“Scoop the Fish” Contest/ 金魚すくい大会
Objective: Catch as many goldfish as possible. Sounds easy? Not really if you have to use a scoop made of rice paper that melts in the water. You have to aim sharp and move really, really fast. A popular festival game for kids, but there are even national championships in Japan
with thousands of adult and child participants.

Spinning Top “Sumo” Tournament/相撲こま大会
The Japanese perform “Sumo” using a lot of things and spinning top sumo is especially popular in southern Japan. Two spinning tops hit the stage at the same time, the first to stop spinning or to be thrown out loses. There will be some other traditional toys from the good old Japan era. Your children will know that they can have fun in an “analog” way.
