High quality Momotaro Kohaku are hard to come by. This particular Momotaro Kohaku is an offspring of SEIO that was purchased from an auction in 2005. Then the Koi had superb body structure, typical of Momotaro but the biggest concern was the development of the Beni.
Therefore, rather than sell the fish as is, I decided to place the Koi into our mud ponds for a year and to see if the Beni development would be good.
Well, the decision paid of with great Beni tone and also good body development. Now, we have a very good Momotaro Kohaku that I feel has a great future.
With her second stint in our mud ponds, I am confident that this particular Kohaku will be some thing to reckon in the future.
A definite candidate for 80 + cm and I give this Kohaku a top rating as a Koi for for the serious hobbyist.
