| One of the mud ponds at Janda Baik, Pahang. |
SPKC follows the same way the Japanese Koi breeders keep the Koi in their mud ponds in Japan. The only difference is that the SPKC mud ponds are available throughout the year thanks to Malaysia's tropical climate. |

| Only 20-30 Koi are kept in a vast mud pond like this to give each fish an ample space to swim around and to grow bigger. The owners of the Koi are invited to see the harvest, which usually begins at dawn. | A long net is used to corner the Koi for harvesting. The moment of suspense and anticipation. |

| When the net is pulled to one corner of the pond, it is raised on long poles in order to prevent "agitated" Koi from julping out of the net. Runaway Koi means another round of netting. | WOW! This Sanke has grown a lot! The 5-month stay in mud ponds is not necessarily a pampered suite life for the Koi, but it does wonders to the Koi's development. |

WOW! A close inspection on how big and beautiful this Sanke has grown over the past 5 months. Quality like this is mainly attributed to the Koi's bloodline and the potential it is born with, plus the good-quality moutain water, optimum feeding management and stringent pond management. |

| Most of the harvested Koi grew much bigger, healthier and retained the vivid colors. All the hard work over the past 5 months paid off. | Checking each fish for any damages or parasites like anchorworms. Usually, the fish come out just fine with only occasional anchorworms on the body. The harvested Koi are put in the salt bath back at the SPKC and medicine is applied if necessary. |

| Loading the Koi on a truck to head to SPKC. From the mud pond site, it takes over an hour to SPKC in downtown Kuala Lumpur on a slow, winding truck ride through the rush greens of Janda Baik forests. | Happy faces after a successful harvest.
